about

'The Wolf’s Lair' is maybe the most ritualistic and bleak composition from Demetrio Cecchitelli, a prolific ambient musician that has shaken between post-classical, electroacoustic and ambient noise, within his numerous discographic efforts on established international labels such as Healing Sound Propagandist, Whitelabrecs, Midira Records, Élan Vital, Mahorka, Shimmering Moods and Sounds Against Humanity, among many others.

Made of just two pieces, both of the same length, the idea of the record is that of drawing an imaginary and abstract location, the lair - the “black” and restless home of the wolves coming down the mountains entering the initial parts of the woods. Slow reverberated bass drones, melting with a reductionist looped soundscape composition and a mantric transposed transverse flute, creating a state of impermanence, uncertainty and desire, but at the same the cruel knowledge of the primordial being of an ancient human-animal, that is now a mutant creature.
